POSITION DETAILS
Position: Mechanical Engineering
Department: Creative Operations
Reports to: Director of Engineering Design
JOB DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS
Position Summary / Purpose of Position
To be part of the engineering department, design, collaborate with teammates, and coordinate between the different disciplines. But most importantly, give “Fast and accurate Expert” advice that guides our customers out of trouble. This position requires experience in decision-making, a good grasp of engineering principles, and the ability to adapt to new standards and site experiences.
Key Responsibilities
MEP and controls the needs of our customers
- Preparing Process flow diagrams for mechanical and electrical water feature design.
- Quoting and estimating control panels
- Promptly and accurately respond to Customer and Prospect requests for information
- Production of animation panel costings and electrical process flow diagrams
- To provide technical support to our clients about our products and fountain construction, focused on electrical and controls
- Promptly and accurately respond to Customer requests for troubleshooting of electrical and controls equipment (Same day turn around)
Project Management, Custom Components
- Attend meetings, respond to RFIs, and prepare drawings package submissions.
- Prepare project specifications.
- Prepare project schedule and resource planning.
- Design and engineering of custom and modified components and equipment
Public Safety
- Safe fountain designs that conform to industry best practices regarding sanitation, soft tissue damage, toe entrapment and segregation of people from hazardous fountain elements.
- Keep Crystal’s engineering quality up to date with the industry’s Fountain Design Standards and best practices.
Skills Requirement
- Exposure to three-phase power in a variety of voltages and configurations (Y, Delta, etc.)
- Ability and desire to work hands-on with prototyping and testing of new products
- Standard drafting practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to design custom-fabricated materials and components
- Knowledge of NEC, UL, CSA, and IEC compliance
- Experience both in the design office and on construction sites
- Knowledge of Bills of Material
- Ability to read/write project specifications
