Position Summary / Purpose of Position

As our world becomes more digital, we are looking for an experienced individual who will lead Crystal’s Content Marketing efforts to support our planned global expansion and growth.

Are you a skilled storyteller and editor who can identify and apply digital marketing strategies to tell compelling stories, make complex concepts easy to understand, and motivate readers to take action? Our Content Manager’s duties include planning, producing, and publishing engaging content through writing, editing, formulating content strategies, and managing an internal team (including sub-contractors).

Do you have a comprehensive understanding of the marketing funnel and the critical roles SEO and subject matter expertise play in an effective content marketing strategy? Our new team member must be skilled in all aspects of modern Content Marketing and continue to build our online presence, with the use of analytics, SEO, funnels, and strategies through articles, blog posts, email campaigns, images, videos, produce and optimize content that drives awareness, traffic, and leads for our sales team.

You will report to the President, manage a small team within our marketing department, and be responsible for developing strategies to drive organic traffic and provide incredible experiences for our audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans for internal and external marketing initiatives through digital media to promote Crystal Fountains products and projects that drive company revenue to meet targets.
  • Leading organic content strategy, leveraging SEO best practices including keyword and opportunity analysis, on-page optimization, link-building, performance monitoring, and more.
  • Aligning content strategy with business objectives and key stakeholders; establishing an editorial calendar based on search demand, product marketing priorities, trending topics, and other opportunities; and analyzing content performance and identifying ways to improve metrics.
  • Managing omnichannel marketing content across all platforms, with a focus on collaboration with sales.
    Managing and overseeing the website and user experience.
  • Working with Crystal Fountains’ Creative Design team on internal and external digital campaigns, ensuring brand alignment, and following online best practices.
  • Analyzing ROI and overall campaign performance, creating recommendations, and actioning those recommendations with the support of the President and the rest of the Marketing/Communications team.
    Liaising with clients and customers to include them in articles and campaigns in interviews.
  • Lead a small team of direct reports and sub-contractors while working collaboratively with other departments
  • Provide editorial, creative, and technical support to team members.
  • Manage staff performance and ensure an open and supportive team environment.

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, or other related fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Creativity and the ability to develop original content.
  • Able to create content that provokes engagement.
  • Proven success in relationship building with various stakeholders and the ability to influence best marketing practices. 
  • Experience in collaborating cross-departmentally.
  • Detail-oriented and driven by metrics. Have an organized, and methodical approach to planning content that helps achieve ambitious goals.
  • A motivating leader. Have a minimum of three years of experience and success with direct reports by establishing goals and strategies to achieve them, and working with team members to improve their craft and be positive contributors.
  • Proven success in project managing campaigns with established goals, processes, and timelines.
  • Proven success in managing multiple initiatives/projects concurrently.
  • Effectively managed from start to finish a variety of digital campaigns while increasing online visibility, building high-quality inbound leads, improving content, and managing SEO requirements.
  • Proven supervisory knowledge of CRM/Marketing Automation (ex: Active Campaign, HubSpot), project management tools, or software.
  • Ability to synthesize results of analysis, develop and make recommendations, and present results to solve unique and complex problems. Ability to translate complex technical information into consumer-friendly designs/assets that drives action.
