Located at 7th and Kansas Avenue, in the heart of Downtown Topeka, Evergy Plaza is an open and newly designed urban public space with a look and feel inspired by the local landscape. The plaza is part of a redevelopment plan with the primary purpose of building a gathering space for the community that is rich in visual appeal, cultural heritage, and arts and entertainment.
This beautiful plaza stretches over 45,000 square feet. It is an open space with an outdoor stage, video wall, and a 50 jet illuminated interactive water feature that is synchronized to music. The 16-foot long fire pit, surrounded by the Mars Wrigley Courtyard, is furnished with chairs and picnic tables, making it the ultimate warm and light spot for relaxing with friends and family.
Consisting of two interactive water features, Evergy Plaza is responsible for offering year-round water and light shows that will draw the community into Downtown Topeka, making it the most ideal connecting spot in town!
The first water feature, known as the “Source,” is located at one end of the plaza, and has an upper and lower pool with a connecting waterfall. The lower pool features Crystal Fountains linear lights to up light the beauty of the waterfall.
Coupling our newest Oscilo technology with Choreoswitch sequencing jets, the second water feature creates musical shows that will display the spectacle of shooting water up to 25 feet high–that’s half as tall as the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles!
The Evergy Plaza offers interactive amenities that will encourage the Topeka community to come and make the most of the newly redeveloped space.
During the summer, the plaza will host the Topeka Lodging Association’s splash park by day, and water show at night. In the winter, the water feature will turn into a skating rink. The plaza will also host upwards of 200 events a year, including concerts, farmers markets, yoga classes, and more.
